This CEU activity is designed for interpreters who have actively mentored a novice interpreter. Active mentoring includes observing the mentee's interpretations, leading discussions, providing feedback, and conducting debrief sessions. It does not include time spent interpreting while the mentee observes your work.
To earn CEUs for mentoring, mentorship must occur within your current certification cycle. 0.1 Professional Studies CEUs will be awarded for each hour of active mentoring.
Educational Objectives:
Describe mentoring strategies used to support the mentee
Discuss ways mentoring contributes to the mentor's growth as an interpreter
Reflect on the mentorship process
This Professional Studies program is offered for a minimum of 0.1 CEUs at the little/no Content Knowledge Level. Target Audience is interpreters and aspiring interpreters. Activity Code FRC26.049

STEP 1: Actively mentor a novice interpreter for a minimum of one hour.
Active mentoring includes observing the mentee's interpretations, leading discussions, providing feedback, and conducting debrief sessions. It does not include time spent interpreting while the mentee observes your work.
STEP 2: Upload documentation in the Google Form and answer 4 reflection questions.
Documentation includes:
Mentee's name
Mentee's contact information
PDF listing the date, length of each session, and total hours
Before beginning, you may want to review the questions in advance.
The form must be fully completed to earn CEUs. Forms with missing documentation or reflections can be resubmitted.
STEP 3: Purchase CEU processing at any time. Cost includes CEU processing and a Certificate of Completion. All sales are final.
Important: The Google Form and CEU purchase will both ask for your RID number and last name. These must match the RID registry exactly, or your CEUs cannot be processed.
